In June 17, 2020, at Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve, the Dong Nai Province’s Departmet of Science and Technology held the official acceptance meeting of the scientific research project entitled “Biological and ecological characteristics and breeding techniques of Eurycoma longifolia Jack. species at Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve”.
Attending the official acceptance meeting were scientists and experts in the field of Forestry, Medicine and Pharmacy, and relevant organizations.
This project studied the biological, ecological characteristics and breeding techniques of Eurycoma longifolia Jack. at the Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve used basic investigation methods, plots research, routes research and seeding and nursery methods.
The official acceptance council has conducted field surveys of a number of transect lines, plots and nursery areas to check the results of the project. At the official acceptance meeting, the members of Acceptance Council gave their comments about strengths and weaknesses of the project, then they also made their recommendations for the project. However, according to the report and the field survey result, the Acceptance Council highly appreciated the effort of researchers and it is a foundation to develop a clean raw medicinal material.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Nguyen thi Hoang - Chairman of the Acceptance Council, Director of Dong Nai province’s Department of Scientific and Technology congratulated on the result of the project and required the research group supplement the report in line with the Acceptance Council’s comments. Based on the final report, the Dong Nai province’s Department of Scientific and Technology will submit for Dong Nai Province’s People Committee’s approval.
