Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on a specific day towards the end of March. It was started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. Since then, it has grown to engage more than 180 countries.

In 2019, Viet Nam has celebrated Earth Hour event for 11 years with the participation of government, numerous businesses and community, especially young people, to join hands to protect the environment.

On March 30, Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve coordinated with Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) co-hosted Earth Hour 2019 with the message “Save Energy, Save Earth”.
